Below are some frequently asked questions which will hopefully answer any queries you may have. If however you have a query and cannot find the answer to it then please feel free to send us a message via our contact page and we will be happy to help.

Does it cost anything to sign up to the site?
No, registering with the site is currently totally free.

Free? Surely there must be a catch?
No catches, you will not be charged anything to sign up. The site makes it's money via advertising. All that we would ask is that if you are thinking of purchasing a gift then you have a look at some of our partner sites using the advert links throughout the site. Everytime you go to a website via a link from our site and purchase a product the site receives a small commission. You are under no obligation to use these but this advertising is what keeps the site running and enables us to offer the service for free.

The site also always welcomes donations which can be made using the "donate" button on the bottom right hand corner of all of the pages. Again there is no obligation whatsoever to do this but if you like the site and can spare a contribution to help us continue to offer this as a free service then any donations are always welcome no matter how big or small.

So how do I sign up to the site?
Simply go to the register page and fill in the basic details. Once filled in you can be up and running almost instantly - as simple as that.

My friend has created a Christmas list and I want to see it, how do i do that?
Your friend / family member should have given you their email address. Simply type this in the "Search for friends list" section at the top of the page and click the "find list" button. This will give you a list of all of their active Christmas lists and you simply click on the relevant one to view it.

What information do I have to give to register and how safe is it?
To sign up we only require basic information such as your name, your email address and a password chosen by yourself. We take your privacy very seriously and will not pass your details on to anyone without your prior consent.

How many lists will I be able to create?
Initially each registered user will be able to have 5 active Christmas lists at once. Obviously after Christmas has passed you can delete that list and replace it with another. Depending on the success of the site this may be increased in the future.

Can I advertise on your site?
Yes we are always looking for new advertising partners big or small. If you are interested in advertising on the site then please email us at and we will be happy to discuss potential advertising campaigns with you.

What is the point of signing up to the site?
Everybody loves getting Christmas gifts but they have to be the right gifts. How many people have received socks, wooly jumpers and other boring gifts because people don't know what to get you or what other people are buying you. This site enables you to create a list which anyone with the internet and your email address can access. No more writing a list down 5 times on scraps of paper that get lost, no more gifts you don't want or 2 of the same thing. Create your list, let your friends and family know about it and let them do the rest and buy you gifts you really want and best of all its free!!

What are those codes I have to enter when filling in forms on the site?
These are called captcha codes and are used to keep the site safe and secure by ensuring that spamming programs cannot create spoof accounts on the site. Computers are not as clever as the human eye and cannot make out distorted letters or numbers like humans can. Unless the code is entered correctly then the entered data is not submitted - the spamming software cant decipher the letters and numbers thus cannot submit the forms successfully.

I've forgotten my password, what do I do?
If you forget your password we can reset it for you to get you back into your account, simply go to the account reset page and fill in your details. An email will be sent to your registered email address and within that email will be a link - clicking on this link will then reset your password and you will be informed of your new password. This two step process is to ensure that it is you that is requesting the password reset and not an intruder who simply knows your email address - to complete the reset you must click the link in the email which means the person must have access to that email account which verifies its you or somebody you have trusted to have access to your emails.

For security reasons we cannot simply reset the password to what it was previously - the new password is randomly generated and if you wish you can then change this to something more memorable when logged into your account.

I can't remember my email address to log on with?
If you forget the email address you registered with then you need to email us at and give as as much information about yourself as possible i.e. full name and your password if you can remember it. It may be necessary for you to re-register to the site if you forget your email - this will be judged independently for each case. We recommend you keep all log in details safe and memorable but your email especially as this is much more difficult to reset security wise than a forgotten password is.

Something on my account isn't working or I got an error what do I do?
First and foremost please tell us about it. Whilst we strive to make the site as error free as possible, like all websites small problems and glitches can slip through the net and occur. If you let us know of any problems then we can ensure they get fixed so that you and everybody else who uses the site doesn't encounter them and get inconvenienced in the future.

The easiest way to let us know about a problem is to fill the contact form on the contact page or alternatively drop us an email at . We will email back an acknowledgement of your corresponadance and will look straight away into fixing it as soon as possible, keeping you updated with the progress. When letting us know about a problem please be as detailed and specific as possible i.e. which screen where you in when it happend, what did you do that caused the problem, what buttons did you press and in what order etc etc. Any error reports are appreciated but the more detailed you can be the quicker we can solve the problem.
